Cylinder mowers
Cylinder lawn mowers do not cut the grass but essentially trim it, which is a gentler way to maintain a lawn. The cutting mechanism consists of a rotating cylindrical reel made up of five blades twisted into a helix and positioned at precise intervals and angles. As the reel rotates, the grass passes between two edges moving against each other, cutting the blade like scissors. The tips of the cut grass are therefore not frayed as with conventional mowing and do not dry out.
